Creating pure, clean shapes

This one was really special. We were asked to build a 3.00 x 9.00 metre design study for Mercedes. The designers where challenged to create a design language where clear, pure design forms and purist aesthetics had to meet. There were various challenges: time, size and above all… how will we build this sculpture? Odd forms (in this case over 1,700 pieces) had to form one curvy shape, transitioning from a smooth slick surface into cubicles on a curvy shape. As a result, the style of the 1930s was transformed in a complete and modern way. Considering the timeframe (4 weeks), we did an amazing job.
