Aerospace food trolley development

Modern aviation demands more from onboard equipment than ever before. Airlines and aircraft manufacturers are continuously searching for lighter, stronger, more sustainable, and easier-to-use cabin solutions that improve operational efficiency while enhancing the passenger experience. For this imaginary aerospace project, IMMStudios had to develop a next-generation aerospace food trolley designed around four key objectives: minimum weight, maximum durability, ease of use, and sustainable manufacturing.

From design proposal to production-ready aerospace solution

Using advanced CAD engineering and digital simulations, IMMStudios evaluated dimensions, weight distribution, storage capacity, structural integrity, and user interaction before physical production began.

This digital-first approach allowed the engineering team to optimize performance, reduce material consumption, and eliminate potential design challenges early in the development process.

Lightweight materials for maximum performance

Weight reduction remains one of the most important goals within the aerospace industry. Every kilogram saved contributes directly to lower fuel consumption, reduced operating costs, and improved sustainability.

To achieve these objectives, the trolley combines three carefully selected materials:

Aluminium provides structural strength, impact resistance, and long-term durability while maintaining a low overall weight.

Carbon fiber is strategically integrated into key structural areas where maximum rigidity and minimum weight are required. The material contributes significantly to overall performance while creating a premium and technically advanced product.

High-performance aerospace plastics are used for functional components, interior structures, and user interfaces. These materials offer excellent wear resistance, easy maintenance, and reduced manufacturing waste.

Together, these materials create an optimal balance between strength, weight, durability, and cost efficiency.
